Register for skating lessons in September

You can register for the 2013/14 skating season at Glanbrook Arena, 4300 Binbrook Road:

• Sat. Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
• Wed. Sept. 11 from 5 – 7 p.m.
• Wed. Sept. 18 from 5 – 7 p.m.
• Mon. Sept. 23 from 5 – 7 p.m.

Cash or cheques only; sorry we don't accept Debit or Credit cards.

StarSkaters can start skating Monday, Sept. 9, 2013.
CanSkaters, Pre-CanSkaters, PowerSkaters, and Pre-Juniors start skating the week of October 7.
The annual Skating Carnival is Saturday, April 5, 2014.

Glanbrook Skating Club is meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 6:30 p.m. in the mezanine at Glanbrook Arena. Skater's parents are welcome to attend.

We have a new Board of Directors

At our last meeting on May 15, we chose a new Board of Directors. Nancy Davidson and Debbie Tosello will be sharing the role of president. See more executive members.

Barb Forbes, last year's president and Debbie Lapierre, past president and Test Chair stepped down from the Board. Thank you Barb and Debbie for your dedication to our skating club over the last several years.

Michellie Fletcher is the new CanSkate Co-ordinator

Congratulations to coach Michellie Fletcher who now takes over as CanSkate Co-ordinator for the Glanbrook Skating Club. She is taking the reins from coach Lisa Touesnard who has done an outstanding job for many years. Coaches.

Skating Carnival

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped at our annual skating carnival; we couldn't have done it without you. Thank you: Set-up and Take-Down Crews, Lighting Crews, Decorators, Costume Sewers, Tosello & Sons and Walmart for donating several costumes, Program designer and ad salesperson, script writers, master of ceremonies, coaches, skaters, and everyone who helped to make our skating carnival a success.

Barb Forbes, president of the Glanbrook Skating Club congratulates Hailey Sessa, who won the CanSkate Spirit Award, Ashley Giesbrecht who was the CanSkater of the Year, and Savannah Spencer who was the CanSkate Most Improved award winner. They received their medals at the annual skating carnival Viva Las Vegas.

Congratulations to Kaitlyn Forbes who won Gold in Dance in a recent SkateCanada test and Jessica Skirrow who won Gold in Dance and Interpretive.

They were recognized for their achievements at the annual skating carnival Viva Las Vegas.
